A national financial and healthcare services organisation was looking for a partner to support the development of their Group-wide Business Intelligence (BI) capabilities. They had an existing BI team in their largest business but had failed to get real traction throughout the Group. There was recognition at the senior group level that an improvement in BI capabilities would enable their business strategy and targeted business growth objectives.
Following a competitive request for proposal process (RFP) which included one of the largest consultancy firms in the world, WDScott was selected as the preferred partner to develop a Group-wide Business Intelligence strategy.
The initial review involved over 40 interviews across senior stakeholders in all businesses. WDScott produced a comprehensive BI strategy which linked to the Group’s overall business objectives with clear short, medium and long term goals and associated benefits. The review focused not only on BI domains but also on the people and process domains which are critical to the acceptance and success of BI programs. The final report was fully endorsed by the board and all key recommendations have been added to the organisations business plans for 2014-2015. WDScott looks forward to supporting the business on the implementation of key identified BI work-streams.
The strategy was acclaimed by the CEO, CFO and board for its focus on re-use and initial quick wins to build acceptance across the Group. The strategy recommendations are a key part of their organisational planning for 2014-2015 and a central Performance Improvement Office has been formed to coordinate the activities.
